Mike Minigan
November 2011
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is happy to announce the addition of Mike Minigan to the Executive Board of Directors. This is Mike’s second time serving on the Club’s Board of Directors. Mike had served on the Club’s Board a few years back, when he left to Chair the Presentation School Building Committee that developed and built the school’s 5-acre campus in Sonoma.
A native of Beverly, Massachusetts, Mike graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1978 with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his M.S. in Mass Communication from Boston University in 1982. Mike’s career began in journalism, as a reporter and editor.
He moved to a career in communications and marketing that spanned 25 years and five states, culminating in the acquisition of his company by America Online (AOL) in 1994. At AOL, he and a small team of marketers developed and managed the first mass market online shopping program in cyberspace. He eventually managed the sales and account management operation for AOL’s online shopping unit, and was responsible for more than 300 account relationships with retailers, catalogers and direct marketers.
Mike and his wife, Elizabeth, are now partners in their own firm, Minigan Properties LLC, which invests in residential and commercial real estate projects. They live with their three daughters (Kelsey, Frances and Mary) and one son (Jeremiah) in Sonoma.
He has also coached several youth soccer and baseball teams and is still active in coaching CYO basketball.
